20 #IntrovertProblems Only Introverts Would Understand

There are times in an introvert's life that we fully enjoy. The solo nature walks; the quiet sanctuary of our room (unless we turn on music); the books that fill our shelves; the heart-to-heart conversations with our closest friends; the stories and inspirations that occupies our minds.

There are also times where we feel that our space and very existence has been violated by someone who just can't stop talking or is getting too close to our personal space or is on the verge of popping our bubble. These are the times where we feel we have a problem with society. Then we start thinking, "What is wrong with people?", "Can you just leave me alone?", "Why did you leave me all by myself?", "Why is everybody so loud?", "Why do I have to socialize?".

Below are a few common problems introverts generally have to face throughout our quiet lives. Trust me I can relate to all of them! I don't know whether I should laugh or cry. ANYWAY, a person cannot be fully introvert or extrovert, it's just that a lot of us are inclined to either one. So we have our moments! Can you relate to any of them? Do you know anybody who feels this way? Then you're probably an introvert or you know someone who is one.

If you said "OMG YASSS!" to most of them, I just have a few things I'd like to share with you:

  • I totally know how you feel and sometimes you may encounter times where most people you meet or even your friends can't really understand what is going on in your head, these are the times when you need to remember that there are people out there who you've never met that are like you. And that happened to me one day when I actually went online to search for 'introversion'. I was so surprised that people all over the world knew exactly how I felt. There are people out there who are constantly sharing things online about what is it like being an introvert and that made me feel like I belonged somewhere even though all this time I felt I never belonged anywhere. We can see more often now people are sharing memes and gifs on Tumblr, Twitter, Instagram and Facebook about introverts/introversion. People are also talking about it and asking questions. So I guess introversion is slowly being normalize and not treated like some sort of personality issue.
  • Society these days emphasize so much on socializing, making connections and being 'out there' that we feel we are sometimes out of place. I constantly feel that on a daily basis and I do get tired of it. But like we introverts know, it's not that we hate people or hate socializing totally, we just like to choose when and how we would like to socialize. It's a constant learning experience for me to find out how I can balance my preference of spending quality time alone and spending quality time with my friends. And I think that, as introverts, we shouldn't just throw away our quality time alone just to fit in with the crowd or because of pressure. We deserve to be who we are. We are not harming anybody by being who we are. And I feel that people should understand that and learn more instead of just assuming things about introverts.
  • To introverts who are constantly feeling low about themselves, always try to remember that there are people especially your family and closest friends who love you and are not there to judge you. You will find your place and you will find your passion. You will shine as bright or even brighter than anybody else. Probably not all of us introverts aspire to do great things and prefer to be behind the scenes, that is fine. Introverts are great thinkers and doers. That is our strength. We put more effort in doing rather than talking. Our strength is in our personality. We just have to nurture it and build it.

Have a good week ahead.

MY.
